Like a lot of people, Deborah Campbell (left) and Liz Jorrisen have embraced the new container deposit scheme returning their empties to the collection depot near the hardware store.
They take all of their glass and plastic bottles, cans and 600ml flavoured milk cartons (not plain milk) to the return depot and receive 10c/item back in cash (amounts of $85 will be EFTed).

It’s open Sundays and Tuesdays and you’ll find it just south of the hardware store on the dunes side of Walker Avenue.

If you don’t want the cash, just ask the guys to credit it to the Lancelin District Community Association (LDCA) so the money gets invested in town.

There is now no need for any of your recyclable containers to end up in landfill. So please don’t put them in your kerbside recycle bin, instead drop them off on Sunday or Tuesday to the return point.
